Heterogeneous Group and Homogeneous Group on Learning Process, Which One is More Useful?

Abstract


Abstract: English lesson in Indonesian education not only requires their students to be master on language competence, but also on the English lesson academic. English lesson academic can be measure on the evaluation that is held after finishing material, mid semester, and at the end of academic year. Before holding the evaluation, there is a learning process. Learning process is planned by the teacher. It was planned to make their student understand to the material discussed. There are various type of technique can be used on the learning process, one of them is learning in a group. Learning in a group has been a main discussion in the education world. There are two types of group can be used, heterogeneous group and homogeneous group. They have different on the implementing and the purpose to use them. It makes pro and contra for the teacher to use it, whether it can be useful for their learning process. Therefore this paper will discuss both of groups, whether they can be applied on English lesson.
