Abstract


This study aims to determine whether capital, trust and access to information affect the business performance of salt traders in Pamekasan Regency. This study uses mixed research methods (mixed methods) quantitative and qualitative analysis (Sequential Explanatory) discovery sequence models. The object of this research is salt traders who are scattered in Pamekasan Regency with a sample of 40 respondents using questionnaires and informants for interviews as a means of collecting qualitative data. Hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analysis.

The results of the t-test indicate that the results of this study are that capital partially affects business performance, trust partially affects business performance, and access to information partially affects business performance. The R square value of 61.7% showed that 61.7% of the business performance variables could be explained by the three independent variables used in the regression equation. While The remaining 38.3% is explained by other variables not included in this study.

The quantitative data is supported by the results of interviews with several informants who stated that the factors of capital and trust affect the business performance of salt traders in Pamekasan Regency that are cultural factors. The information access factor has no effect on the business performance of salt traders in Pamekasan Regency. Then the factors of capital, trust and access to information have an influence on the business performance of salt traders. Provision of large amounts of business capital is also needed as a means to increase the interest of farmers or customers in buying and selling transactions. The tension that exists on the basis of these debts, in addition to improving the business performance of traders because indirectly selling salt products to traders, also creates a sense of confidence as a business partner. The trust factor is established not only for business capital assistance but also services and services provided by traders to farmers. In addition, utilizing access to information combined with the provision of adequate capital and the trust resources that have been built will result in an increase in the business performance of salt traders in Pamekasan Regency.
