Abstract: The research objective was to determine the public perception of sweet potato agroindustry. The research location is in Karangploso District, Malang Regency. The research sample was determined by using Accidential Sampling. Data analysis used Cochran's Q test. Research results: Public perception states agree on the development of sweet potato agro-industry in order to realize food diversification. This can also be seen from the percentage of respondents who agree with the development of sweet potato agro-industry with a percentage of 94%. The results of the Q Cochran test obtained the value of the Asymp Sig (significance level) of 0.000, which is below 0.05. Based on the Q Cochran analysis, the calculated Q value is 38.720a, while the Q value distribution table Chi Square (0.005) = 3.84 so the Chi Square t table (3.84) <Q Cochran (38.720), at a 95% confidence level α 5%), and degrees of freedom k-1 or 2-1. By comparing Q count with Q table it is obtained Q count (38,720)> Q table Chi Square table (3.84). Thus rejecting H0 and accepting H1. This means that the community agrees with the development of processed sweet potato products. The variables that strengthen the perception of the community who agree with the development of processed sweet potatoes include: age, education, number of family members, and income.

Abstrak Tujuan Penelitian adalah Untuk mengetahui Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Agroindustri Ubi Jalar. Lokasi penelitian di Kecamatan Karangploso Kabupaten Malang. Penentuan sampel penelitian dilakukan secara Accidential Sampling. Analisa data menggunakan uji Q Cochran. Hasil penelitian: Persepsi masyarakat menyatakan setuju dengan ada pengembangan Agroindustri ubi jalar dalam rangka mewujudkan diversifikasi pangan. Hal ini juga dapat dilihat dari persentase responden yang setuju dengan pengembangan agroindustri ubi jalar dengan persentase 94%. Hasil uji Q Cochran diperoleh nilai  dari Asymp Sig (tingkat signifikansi) sebesar 0.000 yaitu dibawah 0.05. Berdasarkan dari analisis Q Cochran di dapat hasil  nilai Q hitung sebesar 38.720a, sedangkan Q tabel sebaran nilai Chi Square (0.005) = 3.84 jadi t tabel Chi Square (3.84) < Q Cochran (38.720), pada tingkat kepercayaan 95% (berarti tingkat α 5%), dan derajat kebebasan k-1 atau 2-1. Dengan membandingkan Q hitung dengan Q tabel diperoleh Q hitung (38.720) > Q tabel Chi Square tabel (3.84). Dengan demikian menolak H0 dan menerima H1. Artinya masyarakat menyatakan setuju dengan ada pengembangan hasil olahan ubi jalar. Variabel-variabel yang memperkuat persepsi masyarakat yang menyatakan setuju dengan ada pengembangan hasil olahan ubi jalar di antaranya yaitu : Usia, Pendidikan, Jumlah Anggota Keluarga, dan Pendapatan.
