TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION: THE DIGITAL NATIVES, DIGITAL IMMIGRANTS AND TRADITIONAL ENGLISH TEACHERS IN RECENT ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

Abstract
ABSTRACT: The technology integration classroom has been a common issue since the worldused many technologies in almost all the field of life. The use of technology inclassroom becomes compulsory, in which the teacher should consider the needsand the characteristics of the students who are common with the technology suchas gadget, computer and internet-based applications and media. For the teacherswho are the digital natives and immigrants, the use and the exposure totechnology are not the main problems in the classroom. However, the traditionalteacher, who are not common with the technology in their instruction, would finda hard time in the classroom application. The research aims to conceptualize theteachers’ categories, the benefits and the possible challenges, based on their use oftechnology in English teaching and learning.
