Abstract
This research aims to develop learning device 7E learning cycle model to improve the critical thinking skills of grade 4 elementary school students. This development research uses the modification of Dick and Carey model. Methods of data collection using validation, observation, questionnaires and tests. Data were analyzed quantitatively descriptively. Result of research: 1) validity of learning tools with validation results consisting of RPP of 3.53 valid categories, LKS of 3.49 valid categories, BAS of 3.46 categorized valid, and TKBK of 3.58 categorized as valid; 2) the practicality of instructional devices viewed from the implementation of learning by 92% categorized very done, readability BAS of 83.3% and LKS of 87.5% with high legibility category; 3) the effectiveness of learning tools, in terms of student responses categorized very well as 91.9%, the average activity of students equal to 84.69 active categories, students' critical thinking skill test scores increased a gain score of 0.71 with high category. Discussion of research results indicate that the development of IPS device 7E learning cycle model can improve critical thinking skills of fourth grade students of elementary school.
