This study set up the use of showcase portfolio as an apparatusof assessment in powering the implementation of curriculum 2013. A showcaseportfolio is a limited portfolio where a student is only allowed to present a few pieces ofevidence to demonstrate mastery of learning objectives. A showcase portfolio mightask a student to include items that represent: (i) their best work; (ii) their mostinteresting work; (iii) their most improved work; (iv) their most disappointing work; (v)and their favorite work. Items could be homework assignments, examinations, laboratory reports, news clippings, or other creative works. To examine the ways inapplying this portfolio, this study invited 5 male and 2 female teachers as participants ofdifferent vocational schools in North Metro in 2016 of last odd semester. They wereasked to perform in their class then evaluate the class using showcase portfolio at theend of the class session. Technically, this variation in assessing students’ productshowed students’ other potentials that never asked previously by the teachers. Therefore, it could be improvised better than before to maximize this portfolioassessment.
