Author Guidelines

Oral Presentation Guidelines

1. Prepare your research presentation in MS Power Point 2007 or 2010 version.
2. Oral presenters are required to submit the soft copy of research presentation in MS Power Point to 1^st ICoSTES Steering Committee during the registration on September 10^th .
3. Respective submitted soft copies of research presentation must be installed to laptops at the designated presentation rooms before 9:00 in the morning on September 10^th. Installation of soft copies to laptops will be facilitated by the Steering Committee members.
4. Each presenter will be given 10 minute presentation and 5 minutes for question and answer. Totally 15 minutes are allocated for each presentation.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

1. Prepare your poster in size A0 ( 84.1cm x 118.9cm )
2. Posters must be designed in portrait orientation.
3. Poster must include Title, Authors name, Abstract and the IMRAD (Introduction, Objectives, Methodology (Materials and Methods), Results and Discussion, Conclusion) structure of research paper. It is highly recommended to emphasize more on the Results and Discussion section showing charts, tables, figures, and others.
4. Poster presenters are responsible for setting or fixing your poster onto the exhibit board from 7.30 to 8.30 a.m. on Feb 24th and removing from the exhibit board at 4.30 p.m. after the conference.

Awards of Excellent Paper and Excellent Poster Presentation

The Scientific Committee of the 1^st will confer Award of Excellent Paper and Award of Excellent Poster Presentation. Certificate of award and extra prize will be given to each awardee.

Award of Excellent Paper

• Full manuscripts from both oral and poster presentations is evaluated for the Award of Excellent Paper. Without submitting full manuscript, no one can be award candidate.

Award of Excellent Poster Presentation

• Award of Excellent Poster Presentation will be selected only from the poster presentations.

Submission Preparation Checklist

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another conference for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Director).
2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
3. All URL addresses in the text (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca) are activated and ready to click.
4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Conference.
6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed track of the conference, authors' names are removed from submission, with "Author" and year used in the bibliography and footnotes, instead of authors' name, paper title, etc.
7. If submitting to peer review, all Microsoft Office documents (including Supplementary Files) have been saved by going to File and selecting Save As; clicking Tools (or Options in a Mac); clicking Security; selecting "Remove personal information from file properties on save"; clicking Save.

a) Authors retain copyright over their work, while allowing the conference to place this unpublished work under a Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows others to freely access, use, and share the work, with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and its initial presentation at this conference.
b) Authors are able to waive the terms of the CC license and enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution and subsequent publication of this work (e.g., publish a revised version in a journal, post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial presentation at this conference.
